Abstract:This is a pictorial biography of Imam Sayed Abdel Rahman al Mahdi (1885-1959), son of The Mahdi, who united the people of the Sudan in the 19th century. It portrays the story of a man whose life spanned a period of the history of Sudan from subjugation to independence. His life paralleled that of his country, for he had emerged from dire circumstances and surveillance to being a leader of his people, both religiously and politically, as well as receiving international recognition as a respected statesman.
