| Abstract: | This book, which is based exclusively on Arabic sources, examines the religious thought of the Libyan leader Moammar el-Kadhafi and its central place in his political, social and economic theories. The first chapter deals with Kadhafi's intellectual development before the revolution of 1969. Chapter two discusses his vision of the 'new society of the masses' as presented in 'The Green Book'; chapter three examines his faith as a Muslim thinker. The fourth chapter deals with Kadhafi's assertion that religion and nationalism are the two primary forces moving human history. The concluding chapter examines Kadhafi's image in the West, and as projected by some Arab leaders. |
