Abstract: | Approximately 73% of the labour force engaged in the processing, distribution and marketing of fish products from traditional artisanal fisheries in Nigeria are women. Active participation of these women is aimed at supplementing the traditional fishermen's low incomes. The fishermen's wives are therefore encouraged to increase the amount of time devoted to market work, thereby decreasing the time spent on home production and leisure. Bibliogr. |
