Abstract: | African Bible College, located in Yekepa, Nimba County, Liberia, is an independent institution founded in 1977 by the American, Reverend John W. Chinchen and his wife. The College offers a four-year course, designed to meet the qualifications for a Bachelor of Arts degree. On the basis of statements found in its brochure and catalogue, one would assume that African Bible College permits students to take courses 'parallel to that given by any liberal arts college'. An analysis of the core curriculum, however, reveals a predominance of Bible and Bible-related courses. Besides, African Bible College's curriculum does not meet the requirements for teacher certification as mandated by the Ministry of Education, nor does it equip its students to meet the requirements for entrance into graduate school.
