Abstract:This paper focuses on the need for practical training of the students of law at the University of Swaziland (UNISWA). Notably, it addresses the following question: what should be the nature of the training in professional skills and how should it be conducted at UNISWA? The following issues are discussed: The nature and purpose of a practical training programme; the goals of the law curriculum at UNISWA; the provision of practical skills training in the law curriculum of the Department of Law of UNISWA; the development of a comprehensive programme of practical training in the curriculum; and the problems of implementing the new programme with some suggested solutions.
