Abstract:Using cross-sectional data collected during a survey of Ghanaian cocoa farmers in 1984, the authors estimate a translog production function for cocoa farming in Ghana. Their findings indicate that cocoa production technology is neither of the Cobb-Douglas nor the CES functional form, nor is the production function homothetic. The authors also found decreasing returns to scale. Bibliogr., notes.
