Abstract: | The African Curriculum Organization (ACO) was inaugurated in 1976 in an attempt to fill the gap in curriculum network organizations in Africa, earlier cooperative curriculum organizations having been unilinguistic and single-subject based. The author describes ACO's efforts at an integrated approach to curriculum development, its achievements, problems (finance and communications), and lessons for international cooperation for the improvement of education, particularly for Africa. |
