Abstract: | Reaction to an article by K.W. Nicklin and S.J. Fleming (in: NASCA Journal, Vol. 2, no. 2 (Archaeometallurgy Supplement), 1982) on two bronzes from a Nigerian Asunaja shrine. The author criticizes Nicklin and Fleming's reconstruction of the oral history of the Yakurr, the owners of Asunaja shrine, and presents an alternative reconstruction based on current field evidence. Particularly, he examines the problems of dating, migration, and kinglist compilation. Notes, ref. |
