Abstract:As of 1993, there were 105 high school head teachers in Swaziland. Of these, 59 completed a survey questionnaire developed by the author with the aim of determining the profile of high school head teachers in Swaziland, the effectiveness of different power bases in influencing staff members to comply with their demands, their satisfaction with their job and remuneration (salary, car loan, housing allowance), and the relationship between job satisfaction and certain background variables (age, teaching experience and experience as head teacher). The results are presented in this article. Bibliogr., sum.
