Abstract:	This report presents the results of the experimental survey on gillnet fish conducted by the Department of Fisheries in Nchelenge on Zambia's Lake Mweru in 1994. Information has been collected to calculate the present catch per unit of effort - defined as catch per net per night - per sampling station and by species per main ecological area. The results are compared with data available from earlier surveys from 1955 onwards. A popular version of this and subsequent technical reports will appear in due course for extension purposes.
