Abstract:Greater Khartoum, the capital of the Sudan, is composed of three large cities: Khartoum, Khartoum North, and Omdurman, situated at the confluence of the White and the Blue Niles. In 1906 Khartoum had a population of 78,087 people, at the moment this is between three and four million. This article, which is a brief summary of the author's MSc in Geography, looks at all aspects of public transport in Khartoum and puts forward some recommendations for improving the situation.
