Abstract: | Nana Kouao Bile is the 'king' of Juablin, a Akan group, living in the south eastern part of the Ivory Coast. This paper consists of two parts. Part I describes the 'intellectualist' theory of religious conversion in Africa of the anthropologist Horton. Part II uses this theory to explain the conversion of Nana Kouao to Islam. |
