Abstract: | This article is a description of the experience of African Socialist-oriented States in their fight against the colonial heritage and the pressure of neo-colonialism. To create the objective and subjective prerequisites for the gradual formation of a socialist base the following problems have to be faced: the fostering of an awareness of national unity (nation building), the rebuilding of the system of education, the formation of a common national language and the political education of the masses. Ref. The article is continued in the next issue (1974, 56) under the title 'The ideological work of African liberation movements'. |
