Abstract: | The author comments on the sanctions issue: 'South Africa has three possible responses to the threat: to argue the case against sanctions with all the vigour at its command, in the hope of turning aside the pro-sanctions lobby; to make contingency plans to cope with sanctions; and, alternatively, its own counter-sanctions'. He points out the dangers inherent in sanctions not only to all South Africans but also to their partners in trade. |
