Abstract: | Following the signing of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty on March 26, 1979, the foreign and economic ministers of all the Arab countries gathered at a summit meeting in Baghdad and agreed to take certain political and economic sanctions. The implementation of these sanctions and their effect on the economic ties between Egypt and the Arab world are examined, with the focus falling on four aspects of the situation: Arab aid and capital flows, Arab tourism, trade in goods and services, and migration of labour.
