Abstract: | This paper is concerned with following the changes in the role of land in Southern Nigeria as reflected in the law and particularly in case law. An examination of the role of land through the cases alone would give an incomplete picture; for case law does not reflect all the inherited attitudes of a people. It is, therefore, necessary in this investigation to resort to some non-legal authorities. Little or no attention is paid to received law and local legislation which are super-imposed laws and beyond the development of the customary system. References. |
