Abstract: | Although it is obvious that Ghana needs certain largescale industries based on modern technology - were it only to produce the goods which would otherwise have to be imported - these industries do create problems, and their promotion must be analysed in a more critical way than heretofore. The irony of the situation is that the official help given to the small-scale industrial sector including help to small-scale farmers in the agricultural field has been marginal and grossly inadequate. The Technology Consultancy Centre was set up in this context to help promote industrial development. The present article describes the nature and scope of the Centre's activities. Ref. |
