Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to present the trends of capital stock and the Gross Domestic Product of Ghana, over the period 1955-1961, and to supply a hypothesis of their interrelationship. The analysis is based on the GDP figures for 1955-1961, and on estimates of the capital stock for the same period (mid-years). Throughout is dealt with estimates, 'official' (like the GDP figures) and 'unofficial'. Tables.
