Abstract:In two previous articles written by this author on family structure and juvenile delinquency (Nigerian Jl. Econ. and Soc. St., 12 (1970), 2, p. 185/202. British Jl. Crimin.) an attempt has been made to establish some correlations between various aspects of family relationships and juvenile delinquency. This paper is an elaboration on the former articles and it is intended to provide a more comprehensive understanding of juvenile delinquency within the context of family structure. The object of this paper is to examine the relationships between the different variables which have been shown to contribute to the development of delinquent behaviour in the two previous papers. This would show that juvenile delinquency could also result from a combination of factors existing within the family structure. Ref., tables.
