Abstract:After 1944, South Africa's relationship with the I ILO became increasingly uneasy. The protests, particularly from African and Arab states, resulted in a withdrawing from the organization in March 1964 by the government. Many resolutions, denouncing apartheid, were passed by the ILO. When the resolution that calls upon the world trade union movement to boycott South Africa is implemented to any meaningful degree, then an economic collapse is inevitable. The conclusion is that South Africa must not continue to compound its folly by remaining outside for much longer, even if this necessitates some fairly drastic adjustments to its social and political policies.
