Abstract: | The author draws attention to the fact that under the impact of the oil boom important and fundamental changes are taking place in the rural areas in Libya, There is a rural Exodus connected with Petroleum Field Operations. The attractions of oilfield work are viewed from the point of view of the Libyan. The Selection of Workers describes how labor is usually hired in the actual district in which operations are taking place. Turn-over of Labor, Changing attitudes regarding Employment, The training of Field Hired Labor are other subjects with which the author deals, while the article ends with prospects for the future. |
