Abstract: | During then early years of independence, a militant women's equal rights movement has developed in Kenya. Led by urban, educated women, the movement rejects what is now seen as the traditionnally inferior role of women. It wants for them an equal share in the responsibilities and the opportunities of nationhood. This reform movement's aims, methods, and leadership of an early age are described. Notes. |
