Abstract: | 'The unashamedly subjective nature of the: data with which we have to deal in the Senegalese novels produces a degree of authenticity and sincerity that invalidate the so-called objective analysis of imperialist ethnologists and anthropologists who seek only to reduce African society to convenient models that they them selves produce from purely European criteria of selection and judgment'. Purpose is primarily to expose the different aspect of novels on the family and on marriage in Senegal, to study the opinions of the different authors and to comment on both the data and opinions contained in the novels: Education for motherhood - Courtship - The marriage - Polygamy - Conclusions.
