Abstract: | This article with a seven-year plan to develop the Sudan's national econimy and its resources which is expected to be launched in Khartoum soon. The broad object of the plan was outlined by Sayed Abedel Magid, Minister of Finance and Economics, when he presented the Sudan's Central Budget for 1962-63 at the end of June 1962. The plan aims at achieving the take-off stage which would mean the generation of cumulative growth that enables the country to rely for its further development on its own resources and without foreign financial or technical assistence at the present scale. It also means an increase in the national income. The plan aims at strengthening the national economy, at training the people in all technical and professional jobs and improving work conditions. Finally plan aims at stimulating saving and investment and encouraging both domestic and foreign private capital to go into more productive investment. (Afr.
