Abstract:Africa's inability to feed herself has led to record levels of foreign aid. Despite the humanitarian role of food aid and the fact that the term 'aid' preempts criticism, two types of criticism are nonetheless easily discerned. One concerns the use of food aid as a weapon in international relations and trade. The other relates to the impact of food aid on domestic food production. This paper is concerned with the latter issue as well as the impact of domestic producer pricing policies on domestic food production. Abstr., bibliogr., ref.
