Abstract:The aim of a developing country is adjustment to changing circumstances and continuous development. The more the state plays the rôle of planner, entrepreneur and accellerator of economic and social development the more adjustment and development must be intensified. In developing countries the public service is destined to play an important rôle in this process. In an attempt to meet this difficult challenge a programme for the training of public servants has been embarket upon in Botswana. This article describes the organisation created to plan and control the training of the public servants and also discusses the various institutions which are engaged in this training. Ref.
