Abstract: | The contemporary economic facts in the Union of South Africa, but still more the future political possibilities present hopes of a boom of unheard of dimensions. New the chief oppostion party, the United Party, has split, once more the mirage of coalition, or at least political co-operation to the economic advantage of all, is beckoning entirely. For several reasons, a.o. 'The Afrikaans business', the industrialists and the business men want political peace and steady development not only for the sake of external business but also to develop and exploit the £ 400 million a year market of the native population. The fight between business and politics will become more and apparent. |
