Abstract: | Gordon Memorial College was officially opened in 1902. The University of Khartoum attained maturity as an independent university in 1956 the year of Sudan's independence. The author reviews a few highlights of constitutional progress in the Sudan contemporary with some of the important steps taken by this educational institution during its evolution from secondary school to fully grown university. The author follows the development of the Sudan from British administered dependence of Egypt to independent state. Ref. |
