Abstract: | In this article (which was written before the formation of an independent popular government in Guinea Bissau and excludes all reference to the ideological work of South Africa's liberation movements) the problems of ideology in African struggles against imperialism are examined. These problems are: 1) raising the political consciousness of the masses by education and explaining the meaning of transformations in the political and economic system; 2) fostering the national consciousness. Ref.This article is the final part of a series of which the first section was published in the previous issue (1973, 55) under the title 'African culture and ideology'. |
