Abstract:Study of the nature and problems associated with the structure and content of legal education in zimbabwe. After an outline of the fundamental importance of law both in a capitalist society and in a society in transition from capitalism to socialism, the author points out the meaning of the concept of transition', its contradictions, and implications for legal education in Zimbabwe. He then indicates the similarity between the Roman/Roman-Dutch and the 'law in context' approaches to legal education as well as the difference between both approaches on the one hand and a socialist approach on the other. Lastly he discusses the current status of legal education in Zimbabwe and makes some suggestions for change. Notes, ref.
