Abstract:The question has been raised as to whether extension should reach all people or only a section of, the population. This paper attempts to answer this question. An attempt is made to determine the kind of farmers which the Divisional Extension Officers in the Western State of Nigeria reached in the past year and the kind they would like to work in future. An attempt is also made, on the basis of the prevailing conditions, to justify or condemn and recommend the rational choice that the Divisional Extension Officers should make. Ref., table.
