Abstract:Some conclusions: 1. A settlement that fails to provide for the economic and social advancement of the African rural community will prove'unworkable; 2. The existing apportionment of land between Europeans and Africans cannot be justified on grounds of equity or economic and social stability; 3. Aggregate production and incomes in African agriculture could be raised substantially by the adoption of intensified and co-ordinated development policies.
