| Abstract: | Results of the agricultural census of Guinea, native agriculture, for the year 1953, taken in accordance with the direction furnished by the F.A.O. in 1949. Conclusions: There are 85.478 native holdings, corresponding with the number of families living of their agricultural activities. The area under cultivation is 410.801 ha (12.21% of the landarea of Guinea) Rice, Groundnuts, maize, sorghum black maize are the principal crops. Fundi, dry rice, maize (Zea), cassava, beans, cotton, sugar cane and sesame are other crops grown by native farmers. Foodstuffs occupy 70.73% of the total area under cultivation.
