Abstract:Africans must explore very possible avenue which promises a significant contribution to the achievement of economic development that aims at achieving the highest possible good for the Africans, This paper concentrates on efforts by Africans since independence to achieve economic integration. The first part of the paper is a theoretical discussion of the rationale which lies behind the urge for integration generally. The second part gives examples of these movements in various parts of Africa. The third part summarizes the problems encountered with the East African experience as an illuatration. Ref.
