Abstract: | Description of the plans to create 2 'improved' garden villages in Dagoretti on the Western boundary of Nairobi. Owing to the quality of the soil this area could not be one of prime agricultural development and the dominant economic factor is the proximity of Nairobi. Housing for African workers in Nairobi is needed. Here in Dagoretti Africans owned already land in easy distance of the city, facilitating the aim of many urban housing scheme that the urban workers own their own house. Creation of a loan fund for individual plotholders for the construction of better houses. Services. Methods of building - Control - Progress to date. |
