Abstract:The Mandara language is spoken mainly in the Mandara mountain area, with its center at Mora, an ancient capital of a Mohammedan sultanate, in the Northern Cameroons and in Northern Nigeria by both the Mandara, and the naturalized Mofa. Purpose of this paper is only to draw a sketch of the Mandara language utilizing the materials obtained during a stay at Mokolo from the 27th of February to the 5th of March, 1968.
