Abstract:It is extremely important and necessary for all magistrates to know the limits of their jurisdiction and the nature of their functions, duties and obligations. In this connection it is necessary to note that by Act 372, s. 108 a district magistrate is not liable to any action or suit for any matter or thing, done by him in the performance of his functions as a district magistrate. In this survey attention is drawn to the general limits of the jurisdiction of the district magistrates grade II. Their duties and obligations imposed on them by law are highlighted.
