Abstract: | In an article entitled 'The Verbal System in Hausa' (Afrika und Übersee, 44 (1960), 1, p. 1-36), the author essayed a new approach, more comprehensive and, it vas claimed, more systematic than any of those made theretofore by grammars and dictionaries of Hausa, to the complex morphological system of the Hausa verb. In the present article the author presents some new observations adding to the subject treated in the preceding article: Introductory - The 'Causative' Grade 5 - The Dative and D Forms of the Verb - Irregular Verbs and their D forms - Neutralization and Ambiguity - Addenda and Corrigenda. |
