Abstract:Brief examination in three parts of the legal framework of child labour in Kenya, it efficacy and its socio-economic basis. The first part describes some theoretical and definitional issues. The second outlines the historical origins of legal interventions in the marketplace of child labour and traces colonial legislation on the issue. The final part examines existing child labour legislation and offers some conclusions. Notes.
