Abstract:The purpose of this study is to evaluate the organizational efficiency of the Nigerian Union of Credit and Cooperatives (UNCC) in Zinder Province, Niger, West Africa. Measurement of efficiency was made by comparing an established set of criteria based on stated goals with the perceived or measured success in achievement of these goals. Several problems are identified as constraints on the efficient operation of the UNCC in the marketing of agricultural products in Zinder. Recommendations are proposed which are aimed at improving the performance of the UNCC organization. Fig., notes.
