Abstract:The Gikuyu people live mainly in the Central Province of Kenya where they number about 2.5 million which is approximately 20% of the total Kenyan population. The author tries to describe, comment on, and evaluate the Gikuyu's traditional religion and in particular their conception of God. They have at least three well known names for God: Ngai, Murungu, and Mwene-Nyaga. Notes.
