Abstract: | In this study, based on research in 1973/74 in ecological anthropology among the Mbuti pygmies the author analyzes the natural environment of the Ituri Forest and describes how the Mbuti pygmies have adapted their way of life to the natural environment. C.M. Turnbull divided the Mbuti people of the Ituri Forest into archers and net-hunters according to the differences of their principal hunting methods. In this paper focus is on net-hunting which comprises the basis of daily subsistence.
