Abstract:Examines the influence of the normal rainfall patterns in the Lakes' Region on Lwo history. Sections: the environment and economy of the early Lwo - the environment of the Lwo homelands - the Lwo migrations into and through Uganda: to ca. 1580 - Lwo migrations, ca. 1580-1840. Conclusion: there seems to be a correlation between the pattern of migration depicted by the Lwo traditions and the climatic patterns in the Lakes' Region. Maps, Notes.
