| Abstract: | After an attempt to define briefly these factors within traditional Islam, the author turns to the modern situation to find that, while in the social and legal, as well as the educational, fields the Islamic heritage is being slowly invaded and dissipated, there is a marked absence of directives as to the tendencies and developments within Islam in its cultural and religious sense. Therefore he only notes the presence of certain movements and trends without attempting to weigh their respective significance. |
