Abstract: | Comparison of the political experiences of the United States and Africa spanning 1787 and 1966. The first date marks the year of the Philadelphia Convention whose concern was to draw up a new constitutional framework. To explain the constitution, 85 anonymous newspaper articles appeared over the signature 'Publics'. The year 1966 represents the termination of the active political career of Kwame Nkrumah, the most consistent and energetic champion of Pan-Afrikanism, who acted out the role of the African Publius par excellence. It is concluded that all the arguments Nkrumah articulated in his Pan-Africanist crusade remain as pertinent as ever. Notes. |
