Abstract: | This paper examines the relationship between the social order and the understanding of certain physical events among the Eastern Korekore, a Shona-speaking community in the extreme north-east corner of Rhodesia between the Moçambique border and the Mazoe river. The paper concerns beliefs about and reactions to sickness and death, and attempts to analyse how the Korekore explain and understand these. Ref., notes, genealogical table. |
