Abstract:This article reassesses the influence of the Muslim brotherhoods on politics in Senegal. The analysis suggests that despite the socio-economic developments in Senegal since 1966 the position of the marabouts in politics has not seriously altered. It seems safe to conclude that as long as Senghor is in power the present situation will not change. Sections: Measures of economic and social development - Political changes in Senegal - Conclusion.
