| Abstract: | In Hausa a particular type of noun takes a particular form or forms in the plural, and there is quite a strict connection between the final vowel, that is the gender, and/or the tone pattern of a singular noun, and the final vowel and tone pattern this noun acquires in the plural. Thus there are ways of predicting which plural form or forms may be acquired by the noun in the plural. French sum., notes, ref., tab. |
