Abstract:Bini, a Kwa language related to Ibo and Yoruba is the dominant vernacular of the Mid-West Region of Nigeria. Iconicity is the resemblance of a signal - linguistic or otherwise to its referent. Phonic iconicity is equivalent to what many psychologists have called 'phonetic symbolism'. In his article Bini color terms' (Anthropological Linguistics, 12 (9) December, 1970) the author found that it was possible to classify Bini either as a Stage I or as a Stage VII language In the present article the author cites all forms with chromatic reference.
