Abstract: | It is important that any scientific or technological development (plan) must take cognisance of or work in close collaboration with culture. Any approach outside this premise is likely to bring drastic or disastrous results on the society or community whose socio-economic interests it intends to promote. In this article the author shows how culture (the nucleus or axis of the national life in its everyday life) can influence development through education, self awareness, science and technology, political and legal systems, philosophy, and religions, patriotism information (mass media), art, language, literature, and recreation. At the end the author recommends the creation of ministries directly responsible for culture. Ref. |
